My love of sewing started when I found out that Daniel and Jennifer were expecting a little girl – my first niece. I wanted to find a personalized but unique gift that was more special. I asked a friend to help me make an embroidered baby blanket that serve as my gift. That special blanket opened up the possibilities of creative and unique gifts I would be able to share with others.
In 2018, I was gifted my first sewing and brother embroidery machine to start learning how to sew. My initial thought was to continue making personalized blankets for littles. Throughout 2019, I started learning how to sew and researching new sewing patterns. Through a lot of trial and error, I was able to make my first pair of shorts to start my “Me Made” wardrobe.
Finally, in 2020, I created Swervie Vervie as a passion project and hobby as a way to continue creating those unique gifts for those closest to me. That holiday season, I created every gift for my family and friends to showcase what I had learned throughout the two years. Through a lot of encouragement and support, Swervie Vervie launched.
Throughout the past couple of years, we have expanded our Little line to include bows, bowties, dresses, pants, and vests. We strive to be gender-inclusive and value the ability of each little to be their true self. We are continuing to expand our skills and projects but our favorite creations will always be the custom designs that tell a story. Our current favorite is being able to design fabric to celebrate Charley Nova’s Smile Anniversary this past September. Swervie Vervie loves playing a small part in your life story and looks forward to the memories that we can continue to create!
